From Arthurian legend, the location where King Arthur had his castle. The site of Camelot is unknown, and has been placed at Cadbury Castle, Winchester, Carlisle, and Caerleon (South Wales). Camelot was not a medieval castle inhabited by knights in shining armor. The real King Arthur was born about 480 AD. In this time, a castle would have been a fort whose walls were made of an outer and inner layer of logs filled with dirt and stone. Instead of shining armor, King Arthur would have been dressed more like a Roman soldier with a leather chest piece and skirt. Sorry for destroying the fantasy.
